This week, our CEO, Mr. Ngenda Nyambe, paid a courtesy call to the CEO of Prospero, Ms. Mutumboi Mundia. The meeting focused on exploring potential collaborations to drive value for SMEs across Zambia. Yesterday, our CEO, Mr. Ngenda Nyambe, visited the Bank of Zambia Governor, Dr. Denny Kalyalya, at his office in Lusaka. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss key areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening the banking sector and enhancing financial inclusion across the country. This engagement underscores ZICB’s commitment to working closely with regulatory bodies to create a stable and innovative financial environment, helping drive economic growth and development in Zambia.

Today, ZICB was honoured to welcome Ambassador Isabelle Lemba, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, who paid a courtesy call to our CEO, Mr. Ngenda Nyambe, at our head office in Lusaka. This visit provided an excellent platform to engage in discussions on a range of important topics that are key to national development and ZICB’s mission to serve the Zambian people. During the meeting, Ambassador Lemba emphasized the importance of patriotism and the role that local institutions like ZICB play in fostering national pride. In our continuous effort to make tomorrow possible, ZICB is proud to introduce the “WINA Na ZICB campaign,” which will run from September to December 2024. This initiative is aimed at rewarding our customers with cool prizes, including solar lighting kits, gas cooking stoves, laptops, and grand prizes of a brand-new SUV for retail customers and a Toyota Hilux and k250,000 cash prize for our MSME clients. Speaking at the launch, ZICB CEO Ngenda Nyambe highlighted that to participate, retail customers must maintain a minimum average balance of K5,000, while our MSME customers must have a minimum average balance of K20,000 in their ZICB accounts each month. In addition, Mr. Nyambe also announced the winners of our last campaign, where one lucky retail client walked away with an all-expense-paid weekend vacation for five at the Radisson Blue Hotel in Livingstone, and one ZICB MSME client walked away with a power generation solution, which consists of an inverter, batteries, and solar panels, ensuring that their business remains resilient and operational. ZICB proudly participated in the Bank of Zambia’s (BOZ) Sports Day, marking 60 years of the central bank’s existence. Our executives and staff teamed up with colleagues from other banks to compete against BOZ teams in exciting sports, including tug of war, basketball, netball, volleyball, chess, football, and 100-meter races. The spirit of teamwork and camaraderie was on full display as we celebrated this momentous occasion. BOZ Governor, Dr. Denny Kalyalya, officiated the event, making it a day to remember as bankers came together to commemorate 60 years of banking excellence in Zambia.
